Privacy Policy

Orchive (“we,” “us,” or “the App”) is a local-first receipt organizer published by GenZ Crafters. This policy explains what information we handle and how we treat it. By using Orchive, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Overview

Orchive is designed so your receipts live on your device first. Core features — capturing photos, OCR, categories, and local reminders — work without an account. Optional cloud backup and subscriptions may process limited account and sync data as described below.

2. Information we process

Receipt content you create. Photos, titles, notes, categories, dates, and reminder settings you enter. Stored locally on your device by default.
On-device OCR. Text recognition runs on your device (via Google ML Kit) to suggest shop names and dates. Images are not sent to GenZ Crafters for OCR.
Photo library access. With your permission, Orchive may save captured receipts to your system photo library and let you pick existing photos.
Notifications. Local reminders use your device’s notification system. Schedule data stays on-device unless you enable cloud features.
Account (optional). If you create an account, we process email/password credentials via Firebase Authentication.
Cloud backup (Orchive Pro, optional). When signed in with an active subscription, receipt metadata and images may sync to Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage) so you can restore across devices.
Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play and validated via RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card details.
App version checks. The App may compare your installed version to the public store listing to suggest updates.

3. How we use information

To provide and improve Orchive’s core organizing and reminder features
To sync and restore your archive when you enable cloud backup
To authenticate your account and manage Orchive Pro entitlements
To respond to support requests you send us
To comply with law and protect against abuse

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We use processors necessary to run optional cloud and billing features, including:

Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage)
RevenueCat (subscription entitlement status)
Apple and Google (app distribution and in-app purchases)

These providers process data under their own terms and solely to provide their services to us. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

5. Data retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete receipts or uninstall the App. Cloud-synced data is retained while your account exists and cloud sync is enabled. If you delete your Orchive account, we delete associated cloud receipt data subject to normal backup propagation delays. Store subscriptions must be cancelled separately in App Store or Google Play settings.

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to a consumer app, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) for cloud features and platform security for local storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Children’s privacy

Orchive is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your choices

Deny camera, photos, or notification permissions in system settings
Use Orchive without an account or cloud sync
Delete individual receipts or your account from Profile
Manage or cancel subscriptions in App Store / Google Play

9. International users

If you enable cloud features, your data may be processed in regions where our providers operate. By using those features you consent to such transfers as permitted by applicable law.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, when changes are material, take additional steps as required by law.
